Katrina
On August 29, 2005 Hurricane Katrina, the worst natural disaster in U.S. history, destroyed my home and studio in Gulfport, Mississippi. Many of my works were lost in the storm, and I spent the following year and a half as an artist-in-residence at various venues throughout the country. Since returning home, the studio has been restored and part of it has been renovated as a living space. Coming back from this disaster will take time as Mississippi bore the brunt of Katrina’s wrath. Today, only a few structures remain standing and much of the coast is like a blank slate. Still, I remain committed to the rebuilding efforts and hope to do what I can toward that end.

I would like to thank the following organizations, institutions, and individuals for their tremendous assistance and courage. A heartfelt thanks goes specifically to Hiram College as their generosity is still felt today. Again, my thanks goes to all of you along with others not listed below.
