Permutations

Thin earthenware sheets are sandwiched between burlap fabric and seeded with Chia (Salvia hispanica L) creating formal combinations of nature, pattern and the brilliant green color found in traditional Oribe ceramics of 16th century Japan.  The porous ceramic retains moisture while the burlap acts as a hinge connecting each of the eight growing modules into one length that can be arranged and rearranged forming endless possibilities.

Earthenware, chia sprouts, burlap, dimensions variable -- no longer than 8 feet in length.
